MK College’s education provision at HMP Spring Hill impresses Ofsted
MK College’s provision at HMP Spring Hill again impressed Ofsted and maintained its ‘Good’ result at its inspection in December 2017, published in April.
In the inspectorate report, MK College’s quality of education and vocational training was described as good with prison and college managers making sure the number of activity places, including for ROTL, were sufficient to provide each prisoner with some form of daily activity.
Saul Pope, Deputy Director of Quality and Improvement, said: “Ofsted were impressed by the wide range of teaching strategies used by our tutors, effective peer mentoring and the high and markedly improved levels of prisoner attainment on our courses. As it happens, I met those peer mentors recently and was very impressed by their skills and depth of knowledge, including their pastoral skills.”
Congratulations to the team at HMP Spring Hill for the great Ofsted result and thank you for your continued hard work.
